Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 19 Mar 2008

Put to flame and claim your reward. Imagine putting something to flame, the moment we light something on fire we can expect never to see that item again. This has got to be the same image we get when we are personally dealing with issues. Especially sins, character flaws, and attitude problems. If it is taking you years and years, months, and hours to deal with issues, isn’t it time to put it to flame, and walk free without any baggage on your back? Stop blaming others for your lack of responsibility to build and work on your relationship with God. Stop blaming your parents for your imperfections, failures, struggles, and suffering. Stop blaming the Church, your leaders, your friends. It is time we take ownership of our lives, and take ownership of our relationship with God. There has to come a point in our lives where we can put to flame all the excuses, all the blames we put on others, and start taking responsibility for our own actions. Let’s remove the wall we are building up, the invisible wall that causes us to not want to listen, change, and forces us to be alone. How are we ever going to change if we never let people close to us speak into our lives? It is the people that see us all the time, our family, close friends that truly know who we are. Yet, we shun them when they correct us. Psalm 18:24 The LORD has rewarded me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his sight. Are we so blind, are we so foolish, are we so stubborn, are we not tired of our old ways? Is it not time we change, is it not time we gain our reward that God has in store for us?
