Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 18 Mar 2008

Ezekiel 36:25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. 28 You will live in the land I gave your forefathers; you will be my people, and I will be your God. Today’s word of encouragement is about the necessity to be cleansed by God on a daily basis. Victory over our impurities is not won on an annual basis by having new year resolutions. Victory is not won on a monthly basis, at Holy Communion. It is as though we can commit sins throughout the month and on Holy Communion we can repent all our sins by eating the bread and drinking the wine. Victory is not won on a weekly basis, just because we go to church every Sunday. The key word is daily. Psalm 68:19 says, “Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens.” Imagine what our Father does for us everyday—HE BEARS OUR BURDENS DAILY! Not when He feels like it, but DAILY! Without us having to ask, God bears our burdens daily. Is it too much, too hard, too much of a burden for us to meet with God daily? Some of us need to be cleansed today, from our past. Some of us need a new heart, watch and see your heart turn from stone to a heart of flesh. Some of us need the Holy Spirit to reign in our thoughts and actions. What is stopping you from turning to God? What is holding you back from meeting God daily?
