Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 17 Mar 2008

Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 17 Mar 2008

The power of prayer in everyday life.

It saddens my heart to see so many youths these days in prison. It saddens me to see some of my friends today wasting their lives away because of drugs, because of foolish mistakes they made when they were young.

Though it saddens me, sometimes I feel like giving up praying because there is not a single ounce of hope left. What a lie! Everyone no matter what state they are in has the opportunity to be redeemed not by me, not by you, not by the government, but by God.

Sometimes, if we only took the time to put ourselves in our parents’ shoes we would see a whole different perspective. Sometimes as parents if we could put ourselves in our children’s shoes we would see a different perspective as well.

Most often when our children show an attitude, commit crimes, and do foolish things, it is our way of expressing to our parents that we are not happy, that we feel alone in this world, and we are crying out to get the attention from our parents that something is wrong.

I pray that we would never despise and look down at the importance of prayer. It is in the lack of prayer that we do not hear God clearly through every storm we may face. NEVER STOP PRAYING!

Psalm 6:9 The LORD has heard my cry for mercy; the LORD accepts my prayer.

Psalm 6:9 is so powerful because when we know that the Lord has accepted our prayer it is so evident inside our hearts. There is peace, assurance that God has His hand over the situation, and He will shine His light! Today, let us not give up praying.
