Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 4 Mar 2008

Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Which one do you lack? For those of us who struggle with the gift of goodness, I pray that today’s word of encouragement would plant a seed in our hearts to grow this gift, and to turn to God for direction. Goodness is about honesty, integrity, righteousness, and I would even go so far as to include having a pure heart. Goodness is not lying, hiding our sins from people, having a morally corrupted mind and heart, which will eventually eat our soul away. The only way that we can ascertain, obtain, inherit, receive, and value the gift of goodness is if we walk everyday with THE FEAR OF THE LORD. Psalm 31:19 says, “How great is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you, which you bestow in the sight of men on those who take refuge in you.” The Word of God says it so clearly that Good ness is only stored up for those who fear our Lord, and it will only be given to those who take refuge in our Lord. Where do you take refuge in? God? Or is it in your boyfriend, girlfriend, relationships with people, money, power, your career, material gain, titles, awards, degrees, etc. The fear of the Lord, do we really know what that means? © Mar 2008 Shaun Lee archive: www.shauntzen.blogspot.com
