Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 10 Mar 2008

Jeremiah 51:15-16 says, “15 He made the earth by his power; he founded the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding. 16 When he thunders, the waters in the heavens roar; he makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth. He sends lightning with the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses.” Through every season we walk into, we may face good ones or we may face bad ones. But know one thing, God is in control. Jeremiah 51:15-16 so aptly and vividly describes the God we worship. His awesome power is beyond measure, beyond human understanding, yet He humbles Himself so that we can grasp His love for each one of us. Whenever we face discouragement, I pray we would remember this verse. It is so easy to give up when we are faced with discouragement. Imagine Jesus on the cross. It would have been so easy for Him to give up while suffering the pain. All He had to do was show His awesome power, show a miracle, yet He did not give in to discouragement or to the lies from the enemy. What is our response going to be when we face discouragement?
