Leadership-Do not look down on the youth. I hope and pray that today’s word of encouragement would be a reminder and an encouragement to us all, never to look down on the youth. The flaw of many nations, governments, companies, and even churches is the lack of building up the next generation to lead. In every generation no matter how old these kids maybe, you will find hidden potential buried with the gift of leadership. Having a heart that wants to see the next generation succeed further and greater than we ever could, is really having a heart worth more than worldly possessions. The flaw of many great leaders is that they get jealous, insecure, and disobedient to God’s commands. Picture King Saul when he saw David defeat Goliath. I can imagine Saul’s heart, a moment when he realizes that David is going to succeed far greater than he ever could. So what did Saul do? Instead of discipling, teaching, growing the gift of leadership buried in David, Saul chose to kill David and make his life difficult to LIMIT HIS POTENTIAL. When we limit the potential of young leaders, watch and see, they will find means and ways to exercise their gift in ways outside of the norm. Instead of teaching them and helping them learn from their mistakes, we force them out of our lives. Does not Ezekiel 17:24 say, “And all the trees of the field shall know that I , the Lord, have brought down the high tree and exalted the low tree, dried up the green tree and made the dry tree flourish; I, the Lord, have spoken and have done it.” I hope we would remember that God can use anyone. © Mar 2008 Shaun Lee archive: www.shauntzen.blogspot.com |
