Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 19 Feb 2008

Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 19 Feb 2008

Stubbornness. There are many analogies that can be used from this word, but today I would like to focus mainly on these two thoughts. One is negative and the other is positive.

First the negative. Stubbornness is one characteristic that we must overcome. Simply because of this: WHO IS IN CONTROL? YOU OR GOD!!! Stubbornness if not dealt with, not corrected, it can hold us back; restrict us from really being fully used by God. Let’s think about it, who would God rather use? Someone who is obedient, surrendered to God, and submitted to Him? Or would God rather use a stubborn person who doesn’t obey to anyone but himself or herself?

Finally the positive. Stubbornness when it comes to fully walking and living out your convictions, setting moral standards, and being stubborn about it, is precious in the sight of God. Stubbornness is also persistence, tenacity, and perseverance. When it comes to our relationship with God, NOTHING CAN PULL US AWAY. Today, I pray that we would desire to be stubborn when the enemy tries to lure us away from our relationship with God.

Today, what is your choice going to be? The negative form or the positive form?

James 1:2-3 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.
