Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 10 Feb 2008

Ephesians 2:8-10 For it is by grace you have been saved, through FAITH—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by WORKS, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Today’s word of encouragement emphasizes the importance of building your relationship with God. I hope that this word will not offend anyone, but I have to make this point very clear. The difference between Jesus Christ than any god is that we have a relationship with Jesus. It isn’t about rules, right or wrong, good or bad, but a personal relationship with God. Ephesians 2:8-10 are very powerful verses that define what it means to be called a son/daughter of God. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works…” There is no other way that we have been saved other than God’s grace through faith in Jesus. We do not deserve salvation; in fact we do not deserve anything. Finally remember this verse: “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” A God that died for our sins, selfless, and suffered to give us eternal life. Jesus did all this despite the fact that we are all flawed, imperfect, selfish, proud, jealous, and sinners. Furthermore, our Father says to us all, that we are His workmanship, and we have been created to do good works which He has already prepared in advance. How could we ever reject Christ? How could we deny Him? I pray that we would be encouraged today to find our destiny, to restore our relationship with God, and live the rest of your life fully exalting Jesus. © Feb 2008 Shaun Lee
