Proverbs 22:3 A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it. What path are we going to choose today, taking refuge or suffering the consequences of our actions? Everyday we have a choice, a decision, and an outcome. Some decisions we make are big, some are small, some may tempt us to fall, and some may draw us closer to God. No matter what though, one thing is a fact: We have to live with every decision we make. “The choices we make, affect tomorrow.” The word of God says, “A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge…” Who is our refuge? If we say it is our Lord, then I hope that we realize the only way that we can be prudent and aware of the danger is if we have a strong relationship with God. There are no substitutes, no shortcuts, and there is no other way. We all see the danger, we all know the consequences of sin, committing sins, and walking the fine line of our convictions. Yet, we still fall to the hidden and subtle traps of the enemy. And what are the consequences of every bad decision we make? We will suffer for it. We may think that we will never fall; we will never be tempted, please let us not fool ourselves. Anyone can fall, but we have a choice today, to be prudent or to be the simple. © Feb 2008 Shaun Lee |
