Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 6 Feb 2008

Proverbs 3:9 Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; 10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine. As we face the challenges of life before us, some of us carry the weight of the world on our shoulders. It seems like our bank account is a money drainer. Bills, debts, more bills, school fees, food, increasing oil prices, expenses for your new born, rental fees going up, and yet again more bills, it just never ends. Proverbs 3:9 says, “Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the FIRSTFRUITS of all your crops. Yes the bills, expenses, and all other costs may be a burden, but I hope that we would realize the importance in giving God our wealth—our firstfruits. So why in the world do we give God our firstfriuts when He doesn’t need our wealth or money? God does not need our money or cares about MONEY, He wants to see our hearts. Do we really love Him, with all our heart, with all our soul, and with all our mind? (Matthew 22:37) What does God promise us if we give our firstfruits? V10. Then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine. I wonder how big our faith is to believe that God will really promise this to us. Even with all our bills, all our expenses, and costs. Today, I hope that God will challenge each of us, to give our firstfruits, to give our best to God. © Feb 2008 Shaun Lee
