Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 9 Feb 2008 |

Proverbs 10:9 He who walks with integrity walks securely. But he who perverts his ways will become known. It is interesting how the word pervert has become an association with a guy who is obsessed with sex, women, etc. But the word pervert actually means to distort, to misrepresent, change, lead astray, alter, and spoil. In Noah Webster’s 1828 dictionary the word pervert is defined as, To turn from truth, propriety, or from its proper purpose; to distort from its true use or end; To turn from the right; to corrupt. Have we perverted our ways? I love how Noah Webster says to turn from truth, or from its proper purpose. Have I turned from truth? Have I turned from my proper purpose Lord? I hope today we would take the time to question ourselves and our actions. The word of God says clearly, “He who walks with integrity walks securely. But he who perverts his ways will become known.” I love the word securely written in Proverbs 10:9, because it makes me yearn and want to have that assurance that only comes from the Lord. Security in man is totally different from security that comes from God. So finally, I ask you this question, where is your security in? If it is in man, you would always be seeking the approval from people. But if it is in God, you wouldn’t care what people think of you or say about you that are lies, because God defines you. © Feb 2008 Shaun Lee |
