Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 16 Feb 2008

Isaiah 2:17 The arrogance of man will be brought low and the pride of men humbled; the LORD alone will be exalted in that day. Arrogance and pride. The two most conceited forces combined can cause war; can cause destruction, and chaos. It is the pride of men that leads to war. It is the arrogance of man that leads to destruction and chaos. But, today’s word of encouragement is simpler than this. Whether or not we may feel small, young, and no body knows who I am; we still have to be aware of arrogance and pride. There is a difference between confidence in the Lord, and being arrogant. Sometimes parents do not discipline their children when they are showing off, being arrogant, because they feel that if they do, it would make them soft, weak, and small. Having confidence in the Lord is so powerful. A child would not have to show off, would not have to put down people, because he or she knows that they have been made by God, they are surrendered and obedient to God daily. Now that is worth more than gold, money, and all the riches of the world. Our Lord alone will be exalted, no matter what. Yes, God may give each of us a unique calling, destiny, and purpose, but ultimately Our Lord must be exalted. Today, ask God, How can my job, my life—exalt you?
