Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 15 Feb 2008

Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 15 Feb 2008

Isaiah 1:16-17 16 wash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deeds out of my sight! Stop doing wrong, 17 learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow.

If I sound like a broken record to you that means it is sinking in. If we are not consciously aware of our sins, and if we are not constantly making ourselves clean we are going to fall into satan’s trap.

Why is it so hard for us to stop doing wrong and start doing what is right? You know I can’t answer that question for you, but I do know that God has made us all such that we know what is wrong and we know what is right.

Imagine, we are over focused on our personal lives, our voids in life, and we have a lack of self-control over our sins. All these factors distract us from doing the simple things right.

The end of verse 17 says, “Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow.” Are we doing this daily?
