Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 7 Nov 2007 |

Plant the seed, water the seed, and give it time to grow! Planting the seed is the word of encouragement for today! When we look at change, wanting to grow other gifts and talents, it doesn’t happen with a snap of a finger. Planting the seed is taking the first step, and it is important because if we plant our seeds in bad soil, the seeds will die. Picture planting a seed, the soil, and the ground is bad. No matter how much we water it, it is useless, a waste of time, and effort! Let this picture be a reminder to us all today. When we see things in our lives that need to change, that we need to work on, gifts and talents that we need to grow, these are the seeds! The soil we use, where we plant our seeds is important. I hope we can imagine the soil today, as our friends, people that are close to us, are they good soil to us? If we are spending time with people that are corrupting us, please forgive me, but they are not helping us grow, and they are stunting our growth. Mark 4:14-20 The farmer sows the word. 15 Some people are like seed along the path, where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them. 16Others, like seed sown on rocky places, hear the word and at once receive it with joy. 17But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, they quickly fall away. 18Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word; 19but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful. 20Others, like seed sown on good soil, hear the word, accept it, and produce a crop—thirty, sixty or even a hundred times what was sown." © Oct 2007 Shaun Lee |
