Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 5 Nov 2007

What on earth am I living for? I wonder how many of us have actually asked this question, and know the answer to this question. If you don’t have an answer to this question, I hope you would find an answer today. I don’t know if you have done this before, but I often find myself looking and observing people, to see what is going on inside them, their world, and what they are going through. These are complete strangers, but as I walk on the street or traveling on the MRT (Singapore’s public train), I can’t help but notice people. I’ve always wondered what these people are living for. Sometimes it is easy, “Money” drives them, sometimes I can see that life is hard and they are hurting. Some people are confident, joyful, and content with life. Despite all these things that I can see, I still wonder, what on earth are they living for? That is when I ask myself, “Lord, what am I living for?” Life is but a snap of a finger, before you know it, time has passed. Imagine it is already November, to me I still feel like it is the beginning of 2007. Life is worth living for worth everything if we know the answer to this question, “What on earth am I living for?” If your answer is money, success, a good job, a great family and children, a nice loving husband/wife, etc… I say great! But is that all? What Does God say to you, What does God say to you about your life? Psalm 121:7 The LORD will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; Psalm 146:2 I will praise the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. Proverbs 4:13 Hold on to instruction, do not let it go; guard it well, for it is your life. (May we claim this verse over our lives today. God is instructing us, are we listening? He wants to tell us what on earth are we living for, but do we want to hear him?) © Oct 2007 Shaun Lee
