Shepherd my people-take ownership of your flock If we have been called to shepherd we must take ownership of the flock under our care. The definition of ownership is not defined by us but God. It is God who determines what a shepherd must do and not do. Taking ownership of our flock is not about spoon feeding. Most often we find shepherds spoon feeding their flock as a way of taking ownership. We must not tell them what to do and not do. If we continue doing this we will destroy their destiny. Instead of turning to God for guidance, our flock will continue turning to us. WE ARE NOT GOD! It is God who leads, guides, and directs our steps-not us! We are merely human beings. Let us lead the right way. We cannot give them all the answers. Another weakness shepherds are prone to is giving their flock all the answers. Yes! We may know the answer, we may know the best solution, but if we keep giving them the answers they will never learn to trust God. As shepherds let us remember it is ALL ABOUT GOD, about their relationship with God, and not about us. Is the flock dependent on God or us? We are merely broken vessels used by God to either plant the seed or water the seed. GOD DOES THE IMPOSSIBLE! We have all been called to shepherd and to follow. I pray we would learn to master both roles in life. 1 Corinthians 7:23-24 You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men. Brothers, each man, as responsible to God, should remain in the situation God called him to. 2010 Lee Shaun Tzen. www.everynation.org.sg archive: http://tiny.cc/woe |
