Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 12 Jan 2008

Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 12 Jan 2008

1 Corinthians 15:58 Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Today’s word of encouragement is the power of standing firm. Standing firm in our convictions and standing firm on the promises that God has given us. So often we fall short of all that God has for us because we get anxious, we want to speed things up, or we lose sight of God’s purpose and plan.

We aren’t getting any younger and we are still single, so what do we do? We find whoever we can and get married so that we can fulfill that void in our life at that moment. This is just one example of many others that we so often fail to see.

The word of God says clearly in 1 Corinthians 15:58, to not only Stand Firm, but let NOTHING MOVE YOU, AND FINALLY ALWAYS GIVE YOURSELF FULLY TO THE WORK OF THE LORD. I know that God has shown each of us a picture of our purpose, a vision of our future. Don’t give up on those promises! Why? Because the word of God says in the end of verse 58, “Because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”

God has so much in store for each and every one of us. I hope that we’d choose His way over our own agendas. Our labor for God is not in vain. His plans for our lives must be our driving force, our reminder, and the encouragement to not give up, shrink back, and to not settle for anything less that God’s best!
