Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 9 Jan 2008

Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 9 Jan 2008

Psalms 10: 17 You hear, O LORD, the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry, 18 defending the fatherless and the oppressed, in order that man, who is of the earth, may terrify no more.

Today’s word of encouragement is specifically for those of us who are deeply troubled, who have been crying out to God in desperation for an answer, for a miracle, to get them out of the trouble that they are facing in life.

Let Psalms 10:17-18 be your pillar of strength in your life. Psalms 10:17, “You hear, O Lord, the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry.” God hears, He encourages us, and He listens to our crying and desperation. Today, let us find shelter, comfort, and take refuge in the word of God, in His promises that never come back void.

Remember this; God knows what we are facing. God knows EVERYTHING!

Verse 18 needs to be imprinted in our hearts daily! God defends us! He defends the fatherless; He defends the oppressed so that we will not have to be terrified anymore.

Some of us may not be in desperation right now, and feel that today’s word of encouragement doesn’t relate to your life. But I encourage you to look beyond yourself and start praying for people around you. You may have a loved one, a friend, and even someone in your office that is facing a tough situation.

To live life TERRIFIED is the work of the enemy not of God. Today each one of us can be a source of encouragement, we can defend the oppressed, and we can be God’s vessels!
