Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 2 Jan 2008

Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 2 Jan 2008

Job 19:25-27 I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth. 26 And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; 27 I myself will see him with my own eyes—I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!

Suffering is one of the hardest topics to talk about, because unless you have gone through suffering do you really know. A father and mother losing a child, finding out that a loved one has cancer, and there are many other stories.

I thank God for Job in the bible. If there was anyone who suffered, and lost everything he was one man. Despite losing his possessions, his family, living in pain with boils all over his body, NOT ONCE DID HE CURSE GOD.

We can sit there and ask God, Why God? Why are you doing this to me? Why am I suffering? It is important to be real with God. Job was honest, true, and real with God. He was bitter about his suffering and pain, but not once did he curse God for his suffering.

Suffering though none of us want to, it humbles us, reminds us who is in control, and that God is real. God never promised us a pain free life. Which is why, today let us focus our eyes on God.

Today, if we have a friend, a loved one who is suffering let us show our love for them not by our own hands, but through prayer and love the way God loves us all. Job had such a strong relationship with God that even through his sufferings he still held on to God with all his life. Let us pray for this daily.
