Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 4 Jan 2008

Job 24:22-23 But God drags away the mighty by his power; though they become established, they have no assurance of life. 23 He may let them rest in a feeling of security, but his eyes are on their ways. Money, success, fortune, power, are your eyes set on the temporal? With a snap of a finger everything we have and could possibly have in the future could be taken away. Job 24:22 says, “But God drags away the mighty by his power; though they become established, they have no assurance of life.” Today’s word of encouragement is modeled from Job’s life. We are never assured anything! Through Job’s life, I have personally learnt so much from him. To live life with this perspective that we are never assured anything, it truly is a personal desire to live this way, never expecting anything, never demanding anything from God. God’s love for us is one that isn’t based on money, success, fortune, power, etc. Though He wants to bless us, but that does not define God’s love for us. Verse 23 reveals to us how God treats all of us, “He may let them rest in a feeling of security, but His eyes are on their ways.” God’s concern for us all is not how blessed and “good” our life is, He is concerned with our ways. So today, let’s focus on our ways and not on things that don’t mean anything to God!!! I hope we would be challenged. Firstly, to instill a right perspective on life, that we are all never assured of anything! Do we demand God’s blessings over our lives? Secondly, I hope that we would start focusing on the things that matter to God and not on things that mean absolutely nothing to Him. © Jan 2008 Shaun Lee
