Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 7 Jan 2008

Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 7 Jan 2008

Psalm 1:1-2 Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.

Everyday we have a choice, to follow the path that leads to righteousness or the path that leads to sin. God is not going to stop us; we have the freedom to choose how we want to live our lives. But it is evident that whatever we choose we will have to live with the consequences.

There are a lot of people in this world who cheat, who do things illegally so that they can live the lifestyle they want. But let this be our prayer that we want and desire God’s blessings. For that we choose today to be a man or woman that does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.

This is not just a one time affair, but a lifetime commitment to God. Everyday we have a choice, to walk in the counsel of the wicked and sit with mockers, or to be a person that delights in the law of the LORD, and we mediate on God’s words day and night.

Isn’t it funny that some of us would choose the way of wickedness to gain the pleasures of life because it is tangible, it is physical and you can see it? But only a few would choose to meditate on the Word of God day and night, in constant seeking. Why? Because that is all that matters.
