Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 7 Apr 2009

Picking your battles – Avoiding battles the wrong choice Avoiding battles in life are a wrong choice in life. We cannot runaway from battles in life or avoid them. I pray that we would recognise that God allows battles in our lives for several reasons: (1) To see how much we love Him. (2) To test our character. (3) To draw us closer to Him. When we build walls trying to prevent the storms, we often end up worst. The very fact that Jesus died for us on the cross, proves to us that: LIFE IS NOT ABOUT AVOIDING BATTLES, PREVENTING STORMS, AND RUNNING AWAY FROM THE BATTLES. 1 Samuel 17:45 You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. Let us examine our hearts right now. Are we trying to avoid, prevent, or runaway from the battles in life? Let us NOT spend all their time focused on avoiding storms, when we should be spending our time building a strong relationship with God. Just as David fought Goliath, He knew that with God Almighty any battle can be won. One thing is for sure, we can either face battles in life with God by our side or without.
