Prayers for the youth and marriages – 5 Apr 2009

Prayers for the youth and marriages – 5 Apr 2009

Proverbs 19:27 Stop listening to instruction, my son, and you will stray from the words of knowledge.

Against materialism. Father, we pray against materialism right now. It seems so rampant right now that our children have been spoilt. They have grown up without knowing what hardship is like. We pray right now that our youth would not take life for granted and everything that You have provided for us.

Against jealousy. We pray against jealously and against comparison. Lord, we pray that our children would learn the meaning of contentment. We pray that our children would understand the meaning of value and what is more important than money. We pray right now that You O Lord would be the most important thing in life.

We fight for our children. Father, we pray that we would fight for our children and the youth in this world. It seems that there are so many forces and people waiting for them to fail and to fall. Today, we pray against this. We pray that You O Lord would help us fight for them and encourage them.

We pray right now that our children would persevere through the storms. Guide them Lord and open their eyes that they may see what is worth fighting for.

Do not give up! In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Stop the fighting. Father, we pray right now that every marriage would begin to value the meaning of the Lord’s peace. Father, it saddens my heart to know that some families only know: Arguing, fighting, bitterness, swearing, shouting, beating, and abuse. Today, we pray that the Lord’s peace would be poured on every marriage, couple, and child. In Jesus name.

Break the stubbornness. We pray right now that You O Lord would help us to break our stubborn spirit. Hearts that are unyielding to Your voice. Wives we pray right now that our Lord would teach us how to obey You. Teaching us how to submit to our husbands and obey Your authority. Husbands, let us not grow lazy, stubborn, and foolish. The Lord is our light, our guide, and He leads. Today, we pray that we would lead our family’s the right way.

Emotional balance. We pray for emotional balance right now. Where our emotions have gotten out of control, we pray for self-control. We pray that we would not let our emotions get in the way from doing what is righteous in Your sight.

Seek God’s wisdom through every turn. Finally we seek You everyday O Lord, that Your wisdom would lead us and direct us. We pray that we would not grow foolish and stubborn. Help us to listen to Your voice everyday. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
