Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 3 Apr 2009

Firm and solid foundations – when enough is enough

Today’s words of encouragement are a timely reminded that drawing the line, cutting off, and placing priorities are an important foundation in our daily lives.

The basis to know when enough is enough is based on this verse. Matthew 18:8 If your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire.

Right now what are things that we need to cut off? God is very clear to us what He cannot stand. It is written in the Bible and I pray that we too will develop hearts that flows in tandem with our Lord’s heartbeat.

Priorities are in important. I pray that we would seek God before we make any decision in life. Some things are difficult to agree with God and hold firmly to that decision. However, Some things are easy for us to follow and obey God. Today, we must be consistent. God is after obedience and not after how successful we will be in this life before we die.

I hope that this series on foundations has opened our eyes to realise the importance in building solid foundations. I pray that we would continue to build and strengthen our foundations in the Lord. Let us develop hearts that will not budge and give way to satan’s plans.
