Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 1 Apr 2009

Firm and solid foundations – bless and not curse Today’s words of encouragement are a reminder that we must continue to be a blessing towards others. It is easy to curse others, put down people, and to look down on people. It isn’t easy to see the good in people, it isn’t easy to pray and bless others, and it isn’t easy to push others to the top in desperate situations. I pray that we would desire to build a strong and solid foundation based on blessing others. If we don’t God’s Words are clear, we are living lives of bitterness. Romans 3:14 Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness. We must remove the cursing spirit. In order to remove the cursing spirit in us, we must recognise the blessings that God has given to us. Blessings from the smallest things in life, to the biggest things in life. James 3:10 Out of the same mouth comes praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. The world has distorted so many good things in life. I can’t wait for the day when schools, parents, and mentors will ingrain the fundamental principle of blessing others without ever expecting anything back in return. People who carry this foundational characteristic are invaluable. God multiplies and blesses those who bless. God does not reward those who curse. We need more examples of Godly men and women who go against the norm. They do not care about what people think of them. They only care about blessing people.
