Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 18 Aug 2008 |

What is worth more: Waiting or rushing? Today’s word of encouragement is about realizing this key fact. There is power in waiting. Some of us have waited years to have our first child. Some of us have waited years and years to actually find out what we are passionate about in life. To me, it is not how face we finish the race, but finishing the race with fullness of life. To understand the meaning of fullness of life, the only way to understand that, is if we have a strong and close relationship with God. On the other hand many of us have rushed into things. Rushed into marriage, rushed into a new job, rushed into making decisions. There is power in waiting. There is power in being patient. God uses through who are willing to listen, to wait, and to be obedient. Rushing is a lack of listening, lack of waiting, and a lack of obedience. Today, let us wait on God and let him direct the steps ahead. Proverbs 6:16 There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: 17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, 18 a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, 19 a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers. © Aug 2008 Shaun Lee. www.everynation.org.sg archive: www.shauntzen.blogspot.com |
