Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 8 Oct 2008 |

The test of faith – blow after blow will you stand firm? Today’s word of encouragement is about redefining the meaning of taking offense. Proverbs 20:30 says, Blows and wounds cleanse away evil, and beatings purge the inmost being. God’s word is so clear. To cleanse away evil we need to be hit, we need to be wounded. Is it pride? Is it insecurity? Why are your defenses always up? Are you lazy? Why are you always running into a relationship for safety—isn’t God all we need? Whether or not people offer correction, opinions, and judgments out of love or ill intent, IT DOES NOT MATTER. Yes, we may get offended but let us use discernment. This test of faith can change us for the better or for the worst. No matter what people will always judge and have their opinions. We can either use it to our advantage, or we can choose to get offended and lose the test of faith. Today, if we do not allow ourselves to be tested, our faith will die. I pray that we would chose to purge our inmost being EVERYTIME we are faced with our battles in life. I believe after reading this word of encouragement we will remember this phrase always, “PURGE THE INMOST BEING!” Purging the inmost being is the ability to remove, eradicate, expel our inner flawed self so that God can cleanse us and redefine us once again. I pray and hope that we would choose to purge our inner beings today. To do this is a step of faith. It humbles, and it strains out the garbage. © 2008 Shaun Lee. www.everynation.org.sg archive: www.shauntzen.blogspot.com |
