Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 16 Nov 2008 |

Through you they shall know that I am the Lord. If we are still discouraged today and feel that God is not going to use us for His purpose, then I pray that You would make every effort you can to read the Bible. People who don’t read the Word, will continue to fight the world and the world’s issues. However, people who are grounded in the Word of God are unwavering and steadfast because their strength is from the Lord and not from the world. We cannot runaway from the Word of God. My prayer and mission of these daily words of encouragement are to get people drawn back to the Word to build a strong relationship with God. God uses us. Imperfect, disobedient, sinful, and stubborn. The life story of Abraham and Sarah is a continuous daily reminder to me that God can use anyone. We often remember Abraham for sacrificing Isaac. However, I believe that God revealed Abraham’s weaknesses as well as Sarah’s foolishness to encourage future generations to come. Abraham feared man. Wherever he went he would tell authorities that Sarah was not his wife but his sister. This got him into trouble a couple of times. Why did he say this? He feared for his life, because of Sarah’s beauty. Sarah made one mistake that showed me the importance of marrying the right woman. Beauty doesn’t mean anything, if her character is flawed. The very fact that she would WANT her maid to sleep with her husband just to have a child, reveals her heart. Despite their sins and weakness God still used them. Abraham is the father of nations. It is through him and his line that generations of great leaders men and women were born. If God can use these flawed people, God is for sure going to use you. Genesis 17 When Abram was 99 years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, I am God Almighty; walk before me and be blameless. I will confirm my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers. V4. You will be the father of many nations. V5. I will make you very fruitful; I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you. V7. I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you. © 2008 Shaun Lee. www.everynation.org.sg archive: www.shauntzen.blogspot.com |
