Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 12 June 2008

Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 12 June 2008

Let your Kingdom come—let your will be done: Watch your steps!

Today’s word of encouragement is taken from Mark 13:5-10. As we focus on the will of God, on His plans, we have to be aware of our steps ahead. Why? Because it is easy to be deceived, distracted by circumstances, and allow the enemy to cloud our vision and purpose.

Watching our steps allows us to be aware. Are our eyes focused on the Kingdom of God? Are we driven to fulfill His plans through our lives? Or do we have our own agenda?

I pray and hope that we would remember these four key points taken from Mark 13:5-10.

  • Watch that no one deceives you (v5)
  • Don’t let circumstances cause blindness from fulfilling God’s work in our lives (v7)
  • Be on guard! (v9)
  • To be Kingdom driven is to know that the gospel must first be preached to all nations (v10)

Mark 13:5-10 Jesus said to them: "Watch out that no one deceives you. 6 Many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am he,' and will deceive many. 7 When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 8 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains. 9 "You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local councils and flogged in the synagogues. On account of me you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them. 10 And the gospel must first be preached to all nations.

Today, I pray and hope that we are aware of our steps. Let us remain watchful of our every step forward that we won’t trip and fall and fall short of our destiny.
