Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 15 Oct 2007

Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 15 Oct 2007

Let today be a reminder to us all too always put God first. The story of Moses is amazing because he doubted himself, he doubted his abilities; furthermore, he couldn’t believe that God would use him for such a great calling. In Exodus 4:10, “10 Moses said to the LORD, "O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue."

I have mentioned this before in other daily words of encouragement, but I believe that God wants to encourage us all and to remind us how important it is to know that firstly, God can use anyone, and secondly, Do not forget God’s promises for our life.

The road ahead may seem confusing, may seem scary, and we may doubt ourselves, but praise God that we have men like Moses in the Bible who can encourage us. I pray today that we would not give up!

When Moses faced Pharaoh, I bet it must have been daunting, and knowing that he was not an eloquent speaker must have brought so much fear. But whose voice is louder in our lives, God or the enemy? This is why we must always put God first in our lives.

I bet Moses thought with a snap of a finger God would free His people, but not so. In fact God’s people were in Egypt for over 400 years. I don’t think Moses was prepared that God would harden Pharaoh’s heart so many times, and even in the desert for 40 years. The learning point from this is that, we may not know what tomorrow will hold, or what trails may come our way, but it is a daily reminder to us all that we must always put God first in our lives.

God must be the first voice we hear in times of doubt. God’s voice must be first in times of trials. God must be put first in times of joy, and when God blesses us we must put God first. Let us all do a self-check today in our hearts and see if God is really first in our lives.
