Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 29 Oct 2007 |

On a daily basis we face numerous battles internally. Most of our battles are fought within our minds. To fight off those thoughts and accusations we equip ourselves with numerous weapons. Constantly some of us face internal blows on our self-esteem, self worth, and sometimes what people think of us can hurt the most. It is a daily reminder to us all, to remind ourselves who we are, and what we are worth. Nothing care tear us apart, nothing can harm our hearts if we know our true identity. The sad part though not many people know who their identity is in. Today’s word of encouragement is about confidence. Self-confidence can be achieved in so many ways, but honestly when it is done through our own means and ways it is not true confidence. Most often when we look at people who are confident we think they are confident because of the impression they give to people, but deep down inside them, they are actually insecure. Picture this, let’s say we are trying to become a body builder, and we want to get the biggest muscles in the fastest way. So we take steroids, see on the outside we may look big and strong, but in the inside our body is rotting away and causing more harm just to look good on the outside. So the question I have for us all, Who are we really in the inside? Proverbs 16:13 Kings take pleasure in honest lips; they value a man who speaks the truth. 1 Timothy 4:8 For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. Matthew 18:12 "What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off? –let us remember that this is what Jesus will do for all of us, we are of value in God’s eyes! © Oct 2007 Shaun Lee |
