Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 17 Oct 2007

Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 17 Oct 2007

Isn’t it interesting that as time passes, it seems that the education system seems to keep getting tougher and tougher? Today’s word of encouragement is focused on all of us being a source of encouragement for the youths around us. Let us help them remember, to find their unique calling in life that can only be found through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Let us all remember that exams, SATS, A Levels, and many other exams do not define us. It is interesting how parents are sometimes, they tend to put so much pressure on their children to do well, that they tend to over focus on exams instead of pour out love to their children, and they them selves are stressed. If a child fails an exam, does that mean that they are a failure? This is a very important question, because one exam does not define failure.

I wish we as parents, teachers, and adults would realize how much influence we have on a youth. Our actions, the words that come out of our mouths can build or destroy dreams. Words can destroy a child’s destiny especially coming from someone that means so much to that child! Yes they may have not done well on their exams, but does that mean that they will not succeed in life? No, who are we to judge? Are we God—that we know their future!

Today’s word is to be an encourager, and not to give up encouraging our children. If a child, a teenager needs disciplining, by all means we must!! But we are not to give up!!! Proverbs 29:15, “The rod of correction imparts wisdom, but a child left to himself disgraces his mother.”

God told Moses to encourage Joshua in Deuteronomy 3:28. Moses was a mentor, a discipler, a key instrument God used in Joshua’s life. Let us obey God and learn from Moses. Deut. 3:28 “But commission Joshua, and encourage and strengthen him, for he will lead this people across and will cause them to inherit the land that you will see." DON’T GIVE UP ON THEM!
