Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 14 Oct 2007 |

Today’s word of encouragement is about the importance of accountability. Being accountable is something that many of us don’t like because it makes us uncomfortable. Let this be a season of change; let this be a time of building good habits. Most of us don’t like accountability because we have to share our inner secrets and sometimes it is embarrassing. Other times we don’t like to be accountable because we don’t want to change our old ways, or give up our earthly desires. Today, we got to make the stand, we have got to examine our hearts, and do a self-check. Are we hiding anything, are we not accountable to someone who can advice, guide, and speak into our lives. Let me say this frankly, if we continue walking without accountability, we will dry up, rot, and die spiritually. God has not called us to fight our battles ourselves. God has called each of us to fight together. Being alone, doing things in seclusion is the enemies work. Let us not deceive ourselves today. We have to make a stand, we have to cut it off—or else we will die spiritually, a slow death. Psalm 37:9, “For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land.” Proverbs 23:18, “There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.” Matthew 5:30, “And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.” © Oct 2007 Shaun Lee |
