Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 18 Oct 2007

The word of encouragement today is feeling valuable. There are times in life when the weight of the world seems so heavy. The calling that God has given us seems so big, and we feel like we are being engulfed by the world. Jesus is saying to us all today that you are precious and valuable. Matthew 11:29-30, “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." God today wants to restore our hearts, to remove the heavy burdens, the yoke, and lighten our load. All He says to us is Ask and you shall feel the load lifted off your back. But, how often do we ask God to lighten our load? How often are we desperate for God? We must give thanks to God always no matter what. The saddest reality is that we often try to remove our yoke, burdens, and worries ourselves. God seems to be forgotten in our busy lives. If we try removing our load and burdens ourselves we will end up more hurt then we began. Let us remember that in God’s eyes we are precious and valuable. Another sad reality is that we often cling to our “security blankets” to remove the yoke, and the heavy burdens. Some of these security blankets are our boyfriend/girlfriend, wife/husband, our job, money, success, drugs to cure stress, sleep, and make us deal with life. Without God life is empty. God is there every moment we need Him, let us ask Him to lighten our load. Let us check what burdens we have in our bags that we carry on our backs.
