Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 21 Oct 2007 |

Facing another week ahead, it is interest how some of us are dreading it. Today’s word of encouragement is about our attitude. What is our attitude towards life? Is our attitude disrespectful, mean, and rude towards our family, love ones, authorities, and even towards people who are below us? Sometimes it is great if we can once in awhile get an, “attitude check” from people that mean a lot to us. Advice about our attitude from close friends, family members, and even those that we work with. It is important that we take a step forward to humble ourselves and get advice from others, but we must remember to use wisdom. We cannot possibly get advice from everyone around us. God has given to us core people in our lives that can speak directly into us, and these people can tell us if our attitude needs a check. The interesting thing about life is that as we get older, we think that we have reached a certain level of wisdom, maturity, and authority that we now don’t need any “attitude check”. Let us learn from King’s from the past that were stubborn and never listen to wise counsel. King Saul is a great example, he had Samuel advising him about what God was doing and what he had to do, yet he stubbornly disobeyed God’s instructions. Let us pray today that we will not let life takeover us to the point that we are not listening to God. Let us pray that we would humble ourselves and constantly seek wise counsel to advice us, do we need an attitude check, are there blind-spots which I need to fix? Proverbs 15:33 The fear of the LORD teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor. Proverbs 12:15 The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice. Proverbs 19:20 Listen to advice and accept instruction, and in the end you will be wise. © Oct 2007 Shaun Lee |
