Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 11 Oct 2007

Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 11 Oct 2007

Today’s word of encouragement is about hearing God’s warnings. In Genesis 41:28, Joseph interprets Pharaoh’s dream. Pharaoh did not know how to interpret these dreams, but it is evident that God was telling him something.

God brought Joseph at the right time, to tell Pharaoh what God was about to do. 7 years of abundance followed by 7 years of draught and famine. It is because Joseph obeyed God and heard God’s warning clearly that the whole world flooded to Egypt to buy food. Let this be a clear reminder that sometimes God brings key people into our lives at the right time, to bring warning. Let us today soften our hearts, humble ourselves to listen to others that God uses to speak directly into our lives. We do not obey blindly, but we discern so that we can obey God and see for ourselves what God is warning.

I pray that we would learn to listen clearly to God’s warning. God is speaking to us, but I wonder if we are too caught up with our life, that we neglect to hear the warning signs. Right now as I’m writing this, the world is in chaos—God is telling us something, He is warning us.

Let us pray today that we would hear God’s warning. Some of us live life wearing masks, on the outside, to the world, and to our friends we show that we are this person. Deep deep down inside us, we are hiding something, and God is warning us today to let that go.

Some of us have personal ambitions, dreams, and desires. Yet till today we have yet to let those dreams go, to let God be in control. God today is warning us, telling us to stop wrestling with Him, let go!

Deut 5:32, “So be careful to do what the LORD your God has commanded you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left.”

1 Corin 10:12, “So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall!”

Hebrews 2:1, “We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.”

Hebrews 4:1, “Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it.”
