Acts 22:14, “The God of our fathers has chosen you to know His will and to see the Righteous One and to hear words from His mouth. You will be His witness to all men of what you have seen and heard. And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on His name.”
Acts 22 marks a defining point in Christian history because it was the first time Jesus reveals Himself to Paul, a man who persecuted and sent many Christians to prison and to death. However, the moment Jesus revealed Himself and spoke to Paul it changed and transformed his life. The life of Paul and what he did for God’s kingdom is written in the New Testament for us all, to remember and to look at as an example. Most of us admire Paul because of his boldness, authority, wisdom, and how he lived for his faith.
I hope that the life of Paul will be an encouragement to us all today. Remember that Paul was not some amazing person; he was a man who killed and persecuted Christians, and was used mightily by God. God can use anyone!!!
Today’s word of encouragement is to look at the life of Paul and realize that we too have been chosen to know His will; we too have the ability to see the Righteous One, and to hear from His mouth. Furthermore, we all have the ability to be God’s witness to all men of what we have seen and heard. And Jesus is saying to us all right now at this very moment, “And now what are you waiting for?”
