Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 2 Sep 2007

As we head into a brand new week, let us be encouraged to grow the gift of mercy towards others, especially towards our enemies. Some of us work in harsh environments with people backstabbing, or other forms of office politics.
Today let us choose to be a blessing, by offering mercy towards others. When people talk down towards us, curse us, belittle us, and respond in mercy towards them with eyes like our Father.
The gift of mercy can help save broken families, save wars, save arguments, fights, and most of all can bring healing to the heart and soul.
Let us all pray for more of this gift today, and be quick to catch ourselves when we respond like our old selves without mercy.
In Acts 7:59,60 let us all learn from Stephen who was stoned because of his faith. Before he was stoned to death Stephen prays this and I pray today that it would be a daily reminder of how we should look at others especially our enemies. Acts 7:59-60, “Lord Jesus receive my spirit.” Then he fell on his knees and cried out, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” When he had said this, he fell asleep.
