Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 30 Aug 2007

Taking bits and pieces of the Bible, or bits and pieces of Christianity is something that we all must be aware and careful of. As Christians, if we call ourselves sons and daughters of our Lord Jesus Christ, we cannot take just the bits of the Bible that we like, or the pieces of God that we like, and everything else that we find difficult or confused about we throw out. If ever we do that, to be honest, what would make us any different from a person who does not know Jesus?

Today’s word of encouragement is a challenge. God does not want lukewarm sons and daughters, it is evident and clear what type of Christians God is after. Revelation 3:15-16, I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

It is clear and evident that Jesus is after people who are real, we are all sinners, but Jesus can use anyone. Today, I pray that we all would choose not to take bits and pieces of God, but we would want all or nothing!!

I pray that today in our quiet time with God we would ask ourselves these questions, Am I lukewarm? Do I take bits and pieces of the Bible? And Finally, let us bow before God today and say to Him, “Father I give you my life, I surrender everything to you. Lord, you take full control, I pray more of you and less of me.” By: Shaun
