Looking deep into our hearts today! Once again God is challenging our faith today, with these two questions: (1) What does it mean to you to be called a child of God? (2) What will it take to be used by God?
In Matthew 12:41-44 the word of God says, 41 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny.43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on."
Today’s word of encouragement is a challenge for us all. In Matthew 12:41-44 Jesus shows us what it takes to be called a child of God, and what it will take to be used by God. Are we completely, 100% sold out to God? God today is going to ignite the fire in us, if we are willing to be completely sold out to Him like the poor widow.
Let us take the time today during our quiet time with God, and imagine ourselves before God, how would you respond? Like the rich people or the poor widow who threw in all that she had to God? Will we surrender, give everything we have—all that we depend on to God? Jesus wants to meet with us all today; I hope we would all take this opportunity to walk with Him.
