As we face a new week ahead, I pray that we would gear up, prepare for the battles ahead. Today’s word of encouragement is on money. As we look at our current lives right now, the situations we are in, and all that we are going through, I hope and pray that we would take a good look deep in our hearts and see if God is glorified in all our desires, dreams, and pursuits.
Money is crucial, it provides for our future and family. However, the pursuit and gain of money done from the world’s perspective is totally different when it is achieved through God’s ways. In the eyes of the world money gives a person power and prestige, which includes the dreams of a life where you are in control, you have the power to control people. Money in the world’s eyes done for personal gain, the result, you are glorified not God.
Now as we look at pursuing money God’s way, it is done through a focus of asking yourself these questions: first, is it Kingdom driven? Secondly, what is the purpose of my ambitions of gaining money? Thirdly, the pursuit of money, is it done with the focus of love and serving others? When we do things God’s way, we will realize that we start seeing things not from our eyes but God’s eyes, and others comes before personal gain. The dreams of money are not for self accomplishment, but to see the welfare of others changed, and motivated to see others lives changed and transformed. The result of all this, God is glorified.
Proverbs 13:11, “Dishonest money dwindles away, but he who gathers money little by little makes it grow.”
Proverbs 17:16 “Of what use is money in the hand of a fool, since he has no desire to get wisdom?”
