Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 26 Jan 2010

Desire to be shepherd-serving with joy I hope we will always remain sheep for the rest of our lives. Following God and those He has called to shepherd us is part of life even when we know we are leaders deep inside. Though we follow, at some point God will call us to step out and serve. This is the test of true character. There are many who want to be shepherds but they are unwilling to be followers. Let us be followers of Christ till the end. Serving is one of the hardest things to master. It is difficult because we could be doing it for selfish reasons. I pray we would come to a point in our lives where we will serve without expecting anything back in return. We serve because we are obedient, we listen to one voice, and we don't serve because we want the praises of man or the glory nor the fame. Serving comes in all different forms and ways. WE NEED TO BE ATTENTIVE TO GOD. We could be asked by God to serve in secret. We could be asked by God to do random things, but they all serve one purpose. What is our attitude like when we are asked to serve? What is our character like at the moment of surprise?
