Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 6 Dec 2009 |

Empty promises-how desperate are we for God Psalm 69:3 I am worn out calling for help; my throat is parched. My eyes fail, looking for my God. Have we come to a point in our relationship with God that we have been worn out looking for Him? Have we come to a point in our relationship with God that we have been burnt out, fulfilling the will of our Lord? Today, how desperate are we really for God? Is it possible to have false desperation? ABSOLUTELY YES! Are we falsely desperate for God? Do we really know God? I pray we would think about these questions right now because we need to put our faith on the line to see how real we are with Jesus. There is no point faking our faith, it only leads to empty promises. True desperation for God cannot be hidden. Whether it is to correct and discipline someone or if it is to show compassion and love to an enemy. True desperation for God propels us into action. It forces us to pay more attention to the exact details our Father gets upset at. RIGHT NOW DO WE KNOW EXACTLY THE THINGS THAT GOD GETS UPSET ABOUT? Our lives will be continually filled with empty promises if we do not do something with our desperation for God. I pray that our desperation for Him would be steadfast and not a rollercoaster journey. |
