Prayers for the youth and marriages ~ 7 May 2009 1 Corinthians 12:26 If one suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honoured, every part rejoices with it.

Father, we pray right now that You would anoint our children with the gift and the ability to discern what is right from wrong. We pray right now for our children who have gone through broken relationships with their parents. Lord Jesus, if we do not heal and restore broken relationships, hurt, suffering, and pain, we will bring this on into the future, into our marriages, and we could even pass this on to our children. Today, we pray that we would choose to be set free from any hurt and broken relationships. We pray for mending. We pray for restoration. We pray for healing. Father, we cry out to You. We pray that Your loving kindness would break the stronghold. Open the eyes of every heart right now. We break pride. We break self-righteousness. We all need a self-check. As we continue to pray for marriages, we pray that every couple would recognise the importance in healing their past. Any unresolved issues, unforgiveness, hurt, bitterness, and issues from the past will be past on into your marriage and to your children if we do not ask the Lord to heal and to forgive. Furthermore, we need to have restoration take place between the parties involved. Today, the Lord wants us to go back into our past so that we can move on. If we are trying to move on our own way, we will fail. Today, let us do things the way God wants. Father, give us the strength. Give us the courage and boldness to face our past so that we can walk forward anew. There are too many broken relationships. There are too many marriages that have been rocked because of the past. There are too many couples unwilling to change. Today, we break this. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
