As we draw closer and closer to the Christmas season and into the new years, it isn’t about making new year resolutions, it isn’t about looking back at the past year and find out what you need to change and fix it. Today’s word of encouragement is finding peace and making peace. Peace in our hearts can only come from the Lord. Without peace in our hearts we are restless. Let us be aware that sometimes we try to find peace with our own strength. In our minds we might be at peace, but are our hearts really at peace? Today as I was praying for this word of encouragement, I felt that many of us are restless. Restless about our future careers, our family, financial provisions, and that we have many voids in our lives. The bitterness and hurt seems to swell up every part of our lives, affecting everything! If we are feeling restless, today is the day! Ask God to bring peace in our hearts in whatever we are going through right now. We have to pray out loud, cry in desperation to God, and see the peace of God fall upon us. Judges 6:16 The LORD answered, "I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites together." The Lord our Father is always with us, it is a matter of us wanting to be with Him. Today let us find peace in our hearts. © Oct 2007 Shaun Lee

Word of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 17 Nov 2007 to 19 Nov 2007
You are one out of 6.6bln people. Out of all the people created He chose you and me. Imagine, each one of us, created uniquely, created with talents and gifts, and created with a purpose. How is it possible to have so many people and yet each of us have a unique calling? That is the power of God.
Today's word of encouragement is simply answering this question: Why did God create you? As I have written in the first sentence, You are one out of 6.6bln people, so why did God create you?
I hope and pray that we would be able to answer that question, because if we don't know the answer to that question, we are basically wasting time, and we are living life aimlessly.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Are we driven by people, friendships, relationships, or driven By God? We are meant to be relational people, but we have to be reminded daily that people do not drive us or control us. There is only one person who can do that, our Lord.
How do we know if people control us, our friends? Simple, we would do everything together, to the point where we are even jeopardizing our own unique calling and destiny.
How sad it would be to jeopardize and give up our purpose, because of friendships, relationships, and people. Maybe God's called us to work as a team together with like minded people, for a purpose and plan together. If that is so, we still have to be reminded that God is in control and not people.
Job 29:4 Oh, for the days when I was in my prime, when God's intimate friendship blessed my house,

The power of prayer. May today's word of encouragement be a reminder that we must pray in advance. The people we are praying for, Nations that we are praying for, our futures, our children, our marriages, we must pray in advance.
God see's our heart. He knows what is inside us, the rotten parts as well as the good stuff. Sometimes in our prayer mode, we ask God for things the WAY WE WANT IT. So, when things happen exactly the opposite or not how exactly we wanted it to be, we get upset and bitter at God.
Sometimes in our prayers, we are focused ON THE ME, MY NEEDS, when we should be praying and hearing what God is saying to us. We should be praying for the needs of what God is revealing to us.
Our Father is a just God, He is in control, let Him be in the drivers seat. Today, let us reflect on our prayer time with God, is it growing or is it dead? Some of us don't even pray daily, how could we ever expect anything from God if we don't even pray.
Psalm 5:2
Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray.
Psalm 42:8
By day the LORD directs his love, at night his song is with me— a prayer to the God of my life.
Proverbs 15:8 The LORD detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases him.

| Be who you are meant to be, don't try to be someone you are not. This is not the first time that I have talked about comparing ourselves with other people, but this statement is vital.
Even though we know that we aren't suppose to compare ourselves with other people, but innately we do it . The enemy works in such subtle ways like that annoying mosquito sucking blood out of us.
We meet great people and it seems like they have everything we don't have. A better job, a better position, they have more leadership responsibilities than I do; the list just keeps stacking up.
Do you know what happens to us when we fall into this trap? We are never satisfied, we start changing ourselves so that on the outside WE may APPEAR to be that person we want to be. Be who you are meant to be!
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Personally, it is my life's goal and desire to live this life fulfilling the purposes and plans that God has for my life. I don’t know about you but for me, I wake up everyday struggling internally with God why I have to work in this field and many other areas in my life, but as I pray God reminds me of my calling, and my passion begins to stir up! Though the things that we may be facing are not enjoyable, but if we are doing everything that God has planned for each of us, we would find that passion to fulfill God’s plan. So even if we were to be placed in a difficult situation we would not give up or shrink back, because we know that God has called us to be there. God knows what is inside us, he knows what makes us excited, passionate, and what gets us fired up to make an impact for His plans. God is immeasurable, have we taken the time to find out what His plans are for our lives? Or are we simply living life to fulfill all of MY OWN DESIRES? Exodus 9:16 But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth. May this verse be a daily reminder and encouragement for the purpose and reason why we have been made! © Oct 2007 Shaun Lee

Adaptability is something worth developing. When we are not adaptable, we hate change, stiff, and self-absorbed, we will never be able to be fully used by God. To be honest we all carry a certain amount of these traits, and it is not to be discouraged, but to aware. Everyone wants things done their way, and sometimes our attitude is such that our needs come before others. I know I am guilty of this. That is because time is so precious and sometimes helping people does not fit our schedule, it disrupts our life. But how can we ever be fully used by God when we are not adaptable? There are going to be times of unpredictability, we don’t know what is going to happen tomorrow, and life does not revolve around what you want, what you need. Being able to adapt to the unpredictable, that is the key!! That is how we can be fully used by God. 2 Chronicles 30:8 Do not be stiff-necked, as your fathers were; submit to the LORD. Come to the sanctuary, which he has consecrated forever. Serve the LORD your God, so that his fierce anger will turn away from you. James 3:16 For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice. © Oct 2007 Shaun Lee

Isaiah 40:12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, or with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens? Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket, or weighed the mountains on the scales and the hills in a balance? Today’s word of encouragement is to sit back and observe the power of God. As Isaiah so clearly says, who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, or with the breath of his hand marked off the heavens? No one but God! Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket, or weighed the mountains on the scales and the hills in a balance? No One but God! Is anything so great, so big, that God cannot do, accomplish, or solve? It amazes me how often we doubt, doubt our own abilities. We doubt even the promises God has given us. The funniest thing is after reading this, many of us will go back to our old ways, and forget how powerful God is. I hope that today’s word of encouragement will be a daily reminder, no matter what we may be facing. Even during times of success and greatness we can still remember the power of God. During times of sorrow, illness, and discouragement we can be reminded of God’s power! Who is in control today? You or God. © Oct 2007 Shaun Lee

Having a balance in life is one of the most common topics used in the business world, in religion, in self-development books, and the list keeps going on. Today’s word of encouragement is about having a balanced life through the most powerful way, Wisdom that comes from the Lord. Wisdom that comes from the Lord is something worth more than gold, silver, and money cannot even buy it. Each of us has a measure, a portion of the gift of wisdom in us, it is a matter of us actively seeking and using this gift that God has given us. You know what the saddest thing is? We all have been given this gift but often we don’t exercise this gift. Like anything that we want to master, we must put it into practice; we must actively use it to become good at it. Today let this be an encouragement to exercise the gift of Wisdom that God has given us. Wisdom that comes from the Lord is not the same as wisdom. I hope we all realize this. There are many wise and extremely smart people on this planet, but there is a difference between that wisdom and wisdom that is from the Lord. Wisdom from the Lord relates to balance in life through almost every situation we may face in life. Through our actions, if we are offending people, God will give us the wisdom to teach us how to watch our actions. If we are treating people disrespectfully because we are hurt by them, God will give us the wisdom to guide us, so that we do not continue this. God gives us the wisdom to walk in humility, to face persecution, to continue persevering even though we have every right to GIVE UP! Let today be a mark in our life, to grow the gift of wisdom that God has given us, to fight through every situation we may be facing, even the smallest issues. Proverbs 16:11 Honest scales and balances are from the LORD; all the weights in the bag are of his making. Psalm 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise. © Oct 2007 Shaun Lee
