Words of Encouragement for Every New Day ~ 15 Feb 2010

Reshaping this world-compassion and selflessness Do we have the capacity to care? Do we have the ability in us to care about others before our own interest? It is time we reshape this world with compassion and selflessness. Philippians 2:4 Each of you should look not only to your own interest, but also to the interest of others. As I have mentioned before the world does not need any more selfish people. It is already filled with billions of them, myself included. Today, God wants us to examine the other side of the spectrum. What can we do to help? What does God want us to do? If we were to simply ask ourselves the right questions, we would know exactly what to do and what can be done. Nothing is impossible with our Lord. What would it feel like to be on the other end? Having a heart of compassion for those in need, those who are absolutely hopeless, and are fighting for their last breath. What if we, His children could do something? The rich and the poor have many things in common, but one firmly stands out. Their Lord is their maker (Proverbs 22:2). Proverbs 28:27 He who gives to the poor will lack nothing, but he who closes his eyes to them receives many curses. I pray we would be encouraged today to fight for what is right. To start now and not wait. In our comfort, in our abundance it is easy to not care.
