Prayers for the youth and marriages ~ 9 Dec 2009

Prayers for the youth and marriages ~ 9 Dec 2009

1 Corinthians 12:26 If one suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honoured, every part rejoices with it.

Right now we pray for righteous young men and women to rise up. We pray for the next generation and generations to come. They are going to be blessed right now in the name of Jesus.

We pray for our sons and daughters to establish their birthright right now. How You O Lord have made man and woman is clear and distinct. Today, we pray that these biblical laws and truths will be imprinted on our hearts.

The world is going to look different because our children are going to understand their roles.

Clearly O Lord, the roles of a male and female have been lost and destroyed. Today, we pray that Your loving hand would bring restoration. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Lord, we lift up every marriage to you right now. We pray against tiredness, against quick temperedness. Right now we pray that strong foundations will be laid.

We pray for good seeds to fall on good soil right now. We pray that couples would take ownership of their marriage. We pray for greater humility.

We pray against pride, stubbornness, and anger. We pray that You O Lord would reveal your perfect plan made through every marriage.

Lord, we finally pray that you would guard and protect our mouths that we would speak out of love that comes from the Lord. Help us not curse those that you Love. In your name, amen.

Empty promises-reflection time

Personally I feel that this series on empty promises can be quite overwhelming. Today, God wants us to reflect on what we have covered over the past few weeks. What are some areas that we need to work on more? More importantly, what are some areas that we can master so we can be used effectively for the Kingdom of God.

I believe it is necessary for us to take time to reflect with God. Not only are we looking at our lives, but we are spending quality time with God.

There is a danger when we get on this mode of fixing every problem, making sure every area of our lives is accounted for. We could miss the whole point of life. TO LOVE GOD, SPEND TIME WITH HIM, AND FIND OUT HOW GOD'S DAY WAS. I pray we would develop an intimate relationship with God. An intimate relationship with God beats every empty promise out of us.

Ecclesiastes 9:1 So I reflected on all this and concluded that the righteous and the wise and what they do are in God's hands, but no man knows whether love or hate awaits him.

Empty promises-fill our empty cup

What are we filling our empty cups with? The seasons of life is constantly changing. One moment we are filled with fire, zeal, passion, and energy; the next we are down, drained, exhausted, and tired. Despite these ever changing seasons in life, we need to remain constant, steadfast, and focused on the prize.

Steadfast faith is our challenge for today and the rest of our lives. Despite the changing weather and seasons, we must remain steadfast. Right now God is going to restore and fill our cups with everlasting love. We are going to be renewed and most of all we are going to have an intimate relationship with our Father.

We need to stop filling our empty cups with empty promises that are not from God. God fills our cups with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. God fills our cups with unfailing love even when we are at our darkest hours.

Right now what are we filling our cups with? Are we filling our cups with false love? Lies? Gossip? Anger? Impatience? Greed? Are we seeking ungodly relationships to comfort our loneliness? Are we filling our cups with excuses to cover our sins? When we fill our cups with empty promises and everything that is not from God, we are literally pouring acid into our cups.

As children of God we have our makers unconditional love that we can always go to when our cup is dry. We have the ability to let God carry our yoke for His burden is light.

Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Prayers for the youth and marriages ~ 6 Dec 2009

1 Corinthians 12:26 If one suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honoured, every part rejoices with it.

Father we pray that every youth would guard and protect their hearts right now. We pray that they would treasure their lives as much as You treasure our O Lord.

We pray specifically for every young couple right now in middle school, high school, and university. Father, open their eyes and reveal to them what is righteous and what is not. We pray that the gift of moral abstinence would be revealed in their hearts right now.

We break anything that is hidden. We pray for children who would not hide from their parents their darkest secrets. Instead we pray for great relationships to take place between father and son, mother and daughter. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Empty promises-how desperate are we for God

Psalm 69:3 I am worn out calling for help; my throat is parched. My eyes fail, looking for my God.

Have we come to a point in our relationship with God that we have been worn out looking for Him? Have we come to a point in our relationship with God that we have been burnt out, fulfilling the will of our Lord? Today, how desperate are we really for God?

Is it possible to have false desperation? ABSOLUTELY YES! Are we falsely desperate for God? Do we really know God? I pray we would think about these questions right now because we need to put our faith on the line to see how real we are with Jesus. There is no point faking our faith, it only leads to empty promises.

True desperation for God cannot be hidden. Whether it is to correct and discipline someone or if it is to show compassion and love to an enemy. True desperation for God propels us into action. It forces us to pay more attention to the exact details our Father gets upset at. RIGHT NOW DO WE KNOW EXACTLY THE THINGS THAT GOD GETS UPSET ABOUT?

Our lives will be continually filled with empty promises if we do not do something with our desperation for God. I pray that our desperation for Him would be steadfast and not a rollercoaster journey.
