Prayers for the youth and marriages – 6 Feb 2009

Prayers for the youth and marriages – 6 Feb 2009

Deuteronomy 11:1 Love the Lord your God and keep His requirements, His decrees, His laws and His commands always.

Father, we pray that our youths would not take their life for granted. We pray against blindness and lack of meaning in their life.

As our children continue to fight the pressures from this world. We pray that the Lord’s voice would be the loudest. We pray that the Lord’s comfort would be all that they need.

Father, we thank You that our youths will no longer be bound to the hands of the enemy. No longer are we bound to his control. We are sons and daughters of God, and that is all that matters.

In the name of Jesus, use our youths. May they walk in humility always. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Father, we pray for every marriage right now. Thank you Lord for Your daily reminder that we are nothing without You.

Lord, we pray that every marriage would not grow complacent and neglect building their relationship with You and with their spouse.

Father, we pray that husbands and wives would stand on this verse. 1 Peter 5:8 Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Father, today we pray that we would be alert. Help us to be aware of temptation. By your grace and mercy, forgive us Father. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Bridging the gap – Effective use of time

Ezekiel 22:30 I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none.

Every second that passes is unlivable again. How much time do you spend with your spouse? Some of us are too caught up with our own passions that we neglect spending time building our relationship with our spouse. Soon gaps start creeping in that separates us. Before we know it, our marriage has fallen apart.

Don’t think just because you are young it is your parents responsibility to spend time with you. It is time we bridge the gaps that separate us from our parents. Maybe it is too much computer games, too much talking on the phone and online chat. What youths don’t realize is, healthy and strong family unity is vital in our future. FRIENDSHIPS COME AND GO, BUT WE ARE ONLY GIVEN ONE FATHER AND ONE MOTHER.

Your children. Have you neglected your children for your own personal desires? Maybe it is money that drives you. Maybe it is sports, computer games, going to clubs, the list goes on and on. One hour spent effectively with our children strengthens and builds our children’s future. However, one hour spent away from our children separates us further and further away.

Finally, our relationship with God. Are we spending effective time with God? Reading the Word, praying, and building relationships around us so that they are drawn to God. These are things that we do daily. God must come first. If not, we are building more gaps in our lives that will separate us further from God.

Prayers for the youth and marriages – 5 Feb 2009

Deuteronomy 11:1 Love the Lord your God and keep His requirements, His decrees, His laws and His commands always.

Thank you Lord for the lives of every single youth. We pray that they would continue to strive to model their lives after You and not anyone else.

Father, we pray right now that our youth would recognize the value and worth in building a relationship with You. Lord, many do not know You. Many are searching. We pray that they would not have to search any further, because every answer that they have been looking for can be found if they just took the time to read Your Word.

Father, let 2009 be the year. Let it be a year when our youth would turn from their old ways and walk with You always.

Father, thank you God for every marriage. Thank You Lord for every life. Every life is of value and is precious in Your sight. Right now we pray that You would bind every mouth and every person that abuses their spouse.

We pray against cheating. We pray against anger, fighting, and condemnation. Lord, right now we prophecy to the dry bones. We pray that those that have been taking the bulk of persecution would rise up in confidence in You Lord. We pray that they would be shielded and guarded in the comfort of Your arms.

We pray for those that are abusive, Lord we pray for the gift of self-control. Lead them and help them find the meaning of love. They need You. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Father we pray for this nation, we pray for its people, and we pray for its future. Lord, we pray that this nation would continue to walk in righteousness and build its foundations strong in You.

Father, as this nation continues to overcome political instability, we pray that no matter what the central foundation of families would stand firm and strong. It is through families and the Word of God that this nation will be rebuilt.

In the name of Jesus, we pray that You would use this nation, use its people to make an impact in the African Continent. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.

Father, we pray for the poor right now. The world is filled with selfish and self-centeredness. However, today we pray that the blood of Jesus would be our foundation.

The very fact that You gave your life for ours means something. Lord, we pray that we would sacrifice our lives for others. Especially the poor. Why? Because, You O Lord are our example.

Father, help us. Show us the way. We pray that the poor would be able to have a relationship with You because we chose to give our lives to Christ. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Bridging the gap – convictions

Ezekiel 22:30 I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none.

Being that bridge that connects carries a lot of weight and responsibility. However, this weight and responsibility are not as important as our relationship with God. That is why only a few are ever used by God as bridges of the many gaps in this world.

To be honest with you, it saddens my heart when these “bridgers” fall short of fulfilling their purpose because of sin, because of trails, storms, temptation, and other circumstances. Today, what would help us stand the test of life? What would make us unwavering during the storms?

The Word of God holds all the answers to holding strong convictions. It even holds stories of life examples of those with strong convictions and those who didn’t.

As I have stated before many times: God uses normal, ordinary, and unschooled men/women to fulfill His plans. These men and women that God used were from all different walks of life. However, the one commonality was that they all had, unwavering convictions.

Today, let us claim Psalm 26:1 over our lives. The Word of God says, “Vindicate me, O Lord, for I have led a blameless life; I have trusted in the Lord without wavering.” Right now at this very moment, can we say to God that we have led a blameless life? How badly do we want God in our lives? If we are desperate for God, strong convictions must be implemented.

Prayers for the youth and marriages – 4 Feb 2009

Proverbs 19:27 Stop listening to instruction, my son, and you will stray from the words of knowledge.

Lord Jesus, we thank you for every single life. We thank you for the purposes and plans. However, today we pray that our youth would begin to open their eyes.

Lord, many have taken You for granted. However, right now we pray for forgiveness. Lord, we pray that our children would begin to see what You see.

Father, we pray that our children would not shiver at the day of testing. Instead, we pray that they would rise in confidence and boldness. We pray that they would stand the test of time. Lord, You are going to use them, and we pray in advance that we would be their examples.

In the name of Jesus, be our guiding light always. Amen.

Father, we pray for every single marriage right now. We pray for every couple that in headed a step closer to marriage right now.

Lord Jesus, we pray that these your sons and daughters would obey Your voice. Help them to be wise and discerning. Help them to recognize the value in patience. Father, many young and restless couples rush into marriage. Lord, if it is true love, love can wait.

The most important thing in every marriage is building the right foundation. Solely and 100% built with God at the centre. Today, we pray that You would open the eyes of every future marriage. Help us Lord to be focused on You and not on physical love alone or looks. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Father, we lift up the nation of Madagascar right now. Father, at this very moment this nation is going through political shaking. We thank you for this. More importantly, we pray that Your hand would remove all those that oppress and hinder this nation’s future development.

Father, we pray for righteousness. We pray that Your children would stand up against those that are corrupted. Lord, we pray that this would be the hour when your sons and daughters would rise in boldness.

We pray that this nation would be founded upon the Word of God. We pray that every single person born from this nation would walk in a personal relationship with You. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Father, we pray for the poor right now. We thank you Lord for their lives. Right now we pray that they would recognize that they are of value.

In the name of Jesus we pray right now that You would shake the foundations of every nation. Many nations are built upon week foundations. Many are built on materialism and knowledge.

Lord today, we pray that as the very foundations are shaken, a generation of sons and daughters would rise to make a difference starting with the poor and those that are starving.

O Lord, we thank you. We praise and lift Your name on high. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
