Praying For The Nations and for the poor – 29 Jan 2009

#113 Libya

Father, we thank you for all that is taking place right now in the nation of Libya. We thank you that You are raising up leaders in this nation who love You above all. Men and women who do not fit the mold of this world. Father, let these people be used as an example that God can use anyone for His glory and purpose.

Lord Jesus, we pray for the current circumstances of this nation. Father, we pray that Your children would not give up. We pray that they would not hunger and thirst for things in life that will not satisfy.

Father, we desperately cry out to You. We long for Your voice to shine and reign on earth. By the blood of Jesus and by the will of God, You reign. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Father, we continue to lift up the poor and starving to You. We pray for great faith today. It is easy to harbour discouragement, because of statistics.

However, today O Lord we choose not to base our life on statistics and circumstances. Because You O Lord are in control.

Father, right now we pray that Your glory would shine on earth. Especially on those that are weak and need You. Father, we pray that You would continue to open the eyes of the rich and those that live in abundance.

Lord, with everything that You have gifted us with, we pray that we would not hoard it but we would use it to bless the world. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Let God define love in your life – There is love in letting go

As we continue to pursue love defined by God, I know that God is going to birth fullness of life in all of us. Many of us may have tried to define love in our own way. Or we may have been corrupted by the world’s definition of love.

Today, I hope that we will be able to understand that there is love in letting go. If we claim that we love God and He is the definer of love, then we must be able to easily let go of everything in life that hinders us from having a strong relationship with God.

Just as Abraham sacrificed Isaac, it was easy for Abraham to let go what he loved so dearly. Imagine after waiting so long to have a child, and God asks you to give up that one thing. There is love in letting go. However, Abraham had to learn things the hard way. Abraham and Sarah wanted to have a child so badly that they took things into their own hands. God has given us the Bible and countless stories for us to remember so that we too can learn from their mistakes.

What are our Isaacs in life that we love dearly? What are some things in your life that would hinder you from having a strong relationship with God? When I examine my life, it is evident to me that sometimes I desire what God has for my future more than God Himself. By being able to recognise this, now it is time I let go. “God I render my future powerless, and You are all I want.”

It is time we let go. How deep do you want to go with God? The choice is yours to make.

Job 27:6 I will maintain my righteousness and never let go of it; my conscience will not reproach me as long as I live.

Prayers for the youth and marriages – 28 Jan 2009

Prayers for the youth and marriages – 28 Jan 2009

Deuteronomy 11:1 Love the Lord your God and keep His requirements, His decrees, His laws and His commands always.

Lord, we thank you for every youth. As we continue to pray for our youth, we pray that our burden would increase. We pray that our hearts would never grow tired for praying for our youth.

God almighty, the world wants to harm them, abuse them, and destroy their future. However, we pray right now that by the power of the Lord we render the work of the enemy powerless.

Lord Jesus, You are in control. You are exalted. May every child give their lives to You. You O Lord, are all we need in life. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

By the power of the Lord Jesus Christ, we pray that every marriage would be built on the right and solid foundation.

Where there are holes, where there are cracks, and where we have neglected You, we pray that we would desire to work on rebuilding our marriage. Father, we desperately cry out to You. Every marriage needs You and depends on You.

God almighty, You are our light and refuge. We pray today, that every marriage would surrender their lives to You. Lord, we pray that every marriage would walk in the centre of the Lord’s will today. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

#112 Liberia

Father, we pray for the people of Liberia today. We thank you that You have a righteous purpose and plan for this nation and its people.

Lord, we pray for Your continued support and blessings to be poured on this nation. We thank you for the nation of Norway which has waived debts Liberia owes. Lord, we pray that You would bless the nation of Norway. May the world be humbled by the grace and mercy Norway has shown.

Father, what Norway has done, generations after generations will be blessed because of this righteous act. Lord, we pray for more nations like Norway. As we focus our prayers on Liberia. We pray that through its current transition, turmoil, and chaos, Your children would turn to You.

In the name of Jesus we declare the nation of Liberia Yours. Thank you Lord. We praise Your name on high. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Father, as governments all across the globe continue to restructure their economy to ensure long term stability, we pray that we would never forget the poor, the weak, and the starving.

In the name of Jesus we pray that through this current global crisis, the world would not be so distant. On the other hand, we pray that the world would be unified with one purpose. For all to know the name of Jesus. For the world to recognize that You are our provider and sustainer.

In the name of Jesus we pray that the starving would be able to survive. More importantly though, we pray that they would come to know You.

Father, let this be the year. We pray for unity. We pray that You would shake our hearts, help us to stop fighting and start unifying. May your glory shine always. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Let God define love in your life – Don’t give up

As we continue to redefine love in our personal lives, I believe that God’s encouragement to us today is: Don’t give up.

2 Chronicles 15:7 But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.

Personally, I have been challenged and humbled by God through this series. More importantly, I have begun to realize how fake love can be if it is not defined by God. As we continue to mould love in our hearts God’s way, let us not give up. It is easy to give up.

God at the centre of our lives means, He directs, He leads, He guides, and He is in control. I pray that after we have completed this series on redefining love in our lives, the world would be different because of you and me. There are a lot of quitters in this world. Quitting is the work of the enemy. Are we quitters? Are we going to give up?

Galatians 6:9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Prayers for the youth and marriages – 27 Jan 2009

Prayers for the youth and marriages – 27 Jan 2009

Proverbs 19:27 Stop listening to instruction, my son, and you will stray from the words of knowledge.

Father, we thank you for every single youth right now. We pray for them. We lift them to You. Father, we pray that every child would be hungry and thirsty to find more of You. To grow deeper in their relationship with You.

Lord, we pray that Your light would always shine. We pray that Your purposes and plans would always rest in the hearts of Your faithful children.

Today we pray for faithfulness. We pray that our youth would be known throughout the world because of their faithfulness and obedience to You. In Jesus name we pray amen.

Lord, we thank you for every marriage. Thank you for their lives, their purpose, and their responsibility as husbands and wives. But more importantly as parents.

Father, many marriages have occurred not out of love but out of unforeseen circumstances. We pray right now that no matter what has happened, we seek your forgiveness.

Today, we pray that couples, marriages, and families would be able to walk in absolute forgiveness towards others. Lord, being forgiven by You is most important. Therefore, help us forgive others today, especially our spouses. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Praying For The Nations and for the poor – 27 Jan 2009

Psalm 22:26-28 The poor will eat and be satisfied; they who seek the Lord will praise him – may your hearts live forever! All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord and all the families of the nations will bow down before him, for dominion belongs to the Lord and he rules over the nations.

#112 Lesotho

Father, we pray for the nation of Lesotho. We pray that this nation would be grounded in the Word of God. We pray that Your people would cry out from the depths of their souls for You and only You.

Father, without a doubt You have a great plan for this nation and for every nation. However, the more we run away from You the more we lose sight of what God has planned.

Today, we pray that this nation would begin to turn from their ways. We pray that the light of the Lord would shine always in this nation. Father, may Your sons and daughters turn to You. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Father, we pray for the weak and the hurting right now. We pray that the Lord’s comfort would never depart from them. We pray that they would find rested assurance that they are in the centre of the Lord’s will.

Lord, we pray that we would stand in the gap. By our own strength and will, we have absolutely no ability to stand in the gap. However, because we obey You, we have confidence that we have a purpose and a calling to bring light to the poor and to those that have no light.

By Your blood and forgiveness, we pray that Your hand of protection would always be on those You love. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
