Prayers for the youth and marriages ~ 19 May 2009 Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."

Lord Jesus we pray for our youth right now. Especially for those that are interested in getting into a relationship. Right now O Lord, we pray that You would pierce our hearts that we would recognise and see how much You value our lives. The very fact that our Lord values our lives means we too must value our life. Is it worth it? Is it worth it to give our bodies to another? Is it worth it to enter into a relationship? Is it God or is it just for us to fulfil and empty void? In the name of Jesus we pray that our children would be spiritually mature. We pray that they would recognise their value and worth. Give them the security that comes from You O Lord. Most importantly we pray against peer pressure and against gossip. Father, let this be a reminder to us all, people love to talk and make up things. Right now O Lord, we pray against this. Father, we pray for every marriage right now. Father, we pray that every marriage would be founded and grounded so firmly and strongly on You O Lord. Father, we pray that parents would play an active role in the lives of their children. It is more than just spending time. It is really about knowing each child, how they have been made, and identifying the gifts that God has given them. Help us right now to lead our homes. We pray for every husband and every wife. As we lay solid foundations, generations of godly men and women will be raised. Right now some couples may not have children, but the very fact that we choose to lay solid foundations now, is a blessing and God will reward us. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Praying for Taiwan and for the poor ~ 19 May 2009 Psalm 18:2 The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Taiwan Population: 22.9m (0-14 yrs 16.7%, 15-64 yrs 72.6%, 65 and over 10.7%) Death rate: 6.65 deaths/1,000 Ethnic groups: Taiwanese (including Hakka) 84%, mainland Chinese 14%, indigenous 2% Literacy rate: 96.1% Economic and political concerns: Taiwan has a dynamic capitalist economy with gradually decreasing government guidance of investment and foreign trade. In keeping with this trend, some large, state-owned banks and industrial firms have been privatized. Exports are the primary impetus for industrialization. The island runs a large trade surplus, and its foreign reserves are among the world's largest. Recently opened cross-strait travel, transportation, and tourism links are likely to increase Taiwan and China's economic interdependence. China has overtaken the US to become Taiwan's largest export market and its second-largest source of imports, after Japan. Thank you Lord for this nation, its people, purpose, and the plans that You have in store. I am excited O Lord for the future plans that You have for this nation. We pray right now that You would continue to raise up generations of righteous children that will be used to impact and influence the kingdom of God. Lord Jesus, we pray that You would continue to protect this nation, especially with its foreign relationships. We pray that You would continue to pour Your favour and blessings on this nation. No matter what though there is a reason for this nation and its people. Today, we pray that every Taiwanese would recognize their value and worth in You. Lord, though we have spent some time praying for the swine flu and all those that are sick, we pray that we would not neglect the importance in praying for the poor and for the sick. Help us Father to listen to Your voice clearly right now. As we pray for the poor, help us recognize that there are now millions more added to the list of critically ill, millions added to the list of though that have lost homes, malnourished, and below the poverty line. Father, it is easy to allow these statistics and the news to pull us down, making us discouraged. Lord Jesus, You are the definer of all statistics. Lord, we pray that in our lifetime, these statistics would be radically changed and transformed. Give us hearts of compassion. Give us hearts that care. Give us hearts that beat to Yours O Lord. As Your heart bleeds for the hurting and sick, helps us to care O Lord. We pray for Your hand of protection. We pray that You would continue to guide us as we pray. Prayers for the youth and marriages ~ 18 May 2009 Psalm 90:17 May the favour of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us - yes, establish the work of our hands.

Father, You have uniquely created each person unique. You have created each of us for a reason. Right now, we pray for our children who feel like they are worthless. We pray for the hurting, hardened, rebellious, and abused. Lord Jesus, every child is precious in Your sight. We pray against the persecutors, those that are illegally trafficking children and selling them as slaves. In the name of Jesus, we pray that our prayers would be heard and answered today. Right now we pray by the hand of the Lord that You would bind, judge, and render the work of these traffickers powerless. Father, we pray that our prayers would go down to the very core. The network, the chains, and channels. Father, nothing is hidden from You. In the name of Jesus we pray that these evil men would be justified for their actions. You O Lord are in control. Father, we pray that parents would education their children. We pray that we would be able to teach our children the importance in not taking life for granted. We pray right now that we would be used to guide our children. Right now we pray that our children would desire to learn from us. We pray that our children would respect us Father. Teach us to love our children the right way so that they will be able to respect us. Lord Jesus, we pray that You would guide us. Help us. We repent of our lack of responsibility. We break the work of the enemy that brings fear and laziness to not parent our children. Right now there are millions that teach the wrong things. Are we going to let them corrupt our children, or are we going to rise and take responsibility. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Prayers for the youth and marriages ~ 17 May 2009 1 Corinthians 12:26 If one suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honoured, every part rejoices with it.

Father, we pray right now that You would anoint our children with the gift and the ability to discern what is right from wrong. We pray right now for our children who have gone through broken relationships with their parents. Lord Jesus, if we do not heal and restore broken relationships, hurt, suffering, and pain, we will bring this on into the future, into our marriages, and we could even pass this on to our children. Today, we pray that we would choose to be set free from any hurt and broken relationships. We pray for mending. We pray for restoration. We pray for healing. Father, we cry out to You. We pray that Your loving kindness would break the stronghold. Open the eyes of every heart right now. We break pride. We break self-righteousness. We all need a self-check. As we continue to pray for marriages, we pray that every couple would recognise the importance in healing their past. Any unresolved issues, unforgiveness, hurt, bitterness, and issues from the past will be past on into your marriage and to your children if we do not ask the Lord to heal and to forgive. Furthermore, we need to have restoration take place between the parties involved. Today, the Lord wants us to go back into our past so that we can move on. If we are trying to move on our own way, we will fail. Today, let us do things the way God wants. Father, give us the strength. Give us the courage and boldness to face our past so that we can walk forward anew. There are too many broken relationships. There are too many marriages that have been rocked because of the past. There are too many couples unwilling to change. Today, we break this. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Lord, we pray right now for Sri Lanka. We thank You for Your hand of protection over the Children that You love so much. Right now we pray that You would protect families. We pray that You would reveal Your glory and power to those that do not know You. Especially to those that are persecuting and killing. Father, there is a reason why You are shaking this nation and many more nations that are currently in the midst of terrorism and war. In the name of Jesus we pray that You would shake these nations and continue shaking these nations until all sin and evil is removed. In the name of Jesus we declare the nation of Sri Lanka Yours. Father, we commit this time of prayer for all the sick and ill. We pray for all those that are currently in critical condition due to the swine flu. Father, we pray that the flu would not spread further. We pray that it would be confined, contained, and by the blood of Jesus many will be healed. It saddens me that so many take You for granted. Furthermore it is only in desperation that many turn to You. But we do not take this for granted today. You are in control. Right now, we pray that the thousands that are currently sick would be able to know who You are. We pray that their families would be touched and blessed by You. In the name of Jesus we pray, amne.

Father, we pray right now for our children. We thank you for the gifts, talents, and purpose that You have given to each child. Today, we pray that we would not hold back our children from fulfilling their destiny. Father, some may walk against the grain of life. Some may charter across unchartered ground. But Lord, we pray right now that we would not hold them back. We pray that You would give us the comfort, the security, and strength to know that our children will do find because they are doing the will of God. Father, we pray right now that You would open our eyes and remove the cloudy vision. Life is more than money, success, fame, and wealth. All these things we cannot bring up to heaven. You O Lord are our mighty healer. We pray right now for every marriage. We pray that You would heal the wounds, scars, pains, and sufferings from the past, present, and future. In the name of Jesus we pray for every couple right now that have been longing to have children. We pray that You would heal our hearts right now. Father, we pray that these couples would not runaway from You but run towards You. In the name of Jesus we pray that Your healing hand would be upon every womb, every man that is infertile. You O Lord are in control. We pray for every marriage that has been held back because of the past issues. We pray that healing can take place. We pray that restoration can take place. We pray that forgiveness can take place. Must of all though, we pray that our past issues would never hold us back. Father, we pray for every marriage and the plans that You have. Praying for Pakistan and for swine flu ~ 16 May 2009 Psalm 18:2 The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

The Lord says, be still and know that I am God. Though war may rise against us, of whom shall we be afraid? Whom share we fear? With God who can be against us? Father, we pray for strength right now. We pray for perseverance. We pray for boldness and a courageous heart. We pray for the chaos and terrorism that continues to persist in the Middle East. We pray for Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iraq. We pray for the US soldiers currently based in Iraq. We pray that You would protect their minds, hearts and soul. Remove fear of man, and instill the fear of the Lord. Father, You are our comfort and shelter. You are our tower of strength. Help us O Lord. It is easy to give up. It is easy to fall short of our destiny. Father, we pray for the swine flu right now. Thank you O Lord for the current status. Though many lives have been taken, it is not as severe as other outbreaks. Lord we continue to pray for this virus, families, and people who have been affected by this virus. Lord, we pray that we would be able to minister to these people. We pray that this outbreak would serve as a reminder, a warning, and a mark in our lives to change. Every day counts, we cannot relive the second that just past. We have a role and purpose in life to help those find meaning in life. Without the Lord we are nothing. There are many viruses, there are many evil men out there trying to take life away. We cannot wait any longer. It is time we pour the love of the Lord on this world. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
